How can I even begin to tell you how last week’s Impact In Flux event turned out??

There was vibing and deep-diving. Big feelings and bigger facts. Professional reflections with a touch of mess.

Our night kicked off with bites and drinks, followed by a hearty thank you to our inspiring partners and collaborators — the action-driving nonprofit Idealist, the creator-led podcast collective Multitude, sustainable haircare brand Ethique Beauty, and global flavor-blending baker Zehra Mirza.

From there, we captured two conversations for the Issue Space podcast, diving right into top-of-mind topics for social impact pros:

First, Who’s Working in Impact? with Robert Jay Ross. Who better to provide a snapshot of the social impact job landscape than an impact recruiter and career coach? Robbie Ross did not disappoint, giving us a bird’s eye view of how our market has been hit by current events and cultural shifts, with hard insights and a few laughs thrown in for good measure. (Gotta keep from crying, right? 🥲) This conversation contextualized the impact job-seeking experience on so many levels — I can’t wait to share it with you.

Next, Impact in Flux, featuring Kym Watson, Nagela Dales, and Omar Hakim. The purpose of our chat was to unearth the wisdom our sector already holds, gleaned from so many past and ongoing impact efforts, to help impact pros who have never worked through an era quite like this one better navigate its tensions. Sitting with the honest challenges of the moment, we touched on helpful frames and enlightening mindsets at every level, from personal wellness work, to community support, to forward-looking innovation. There’s truly a takeaway for everyone.
